BREAKING NEWS: Charles Taylor sentenced to 50 years in prison!!!

The former Liberian President, Charles Taylor has  been sentenced to 50 years in prison for war crimes. He denied the charges against him at the Sierra Leone War Crimes tribunal sitting at the International Criminal Court, Hague.

The war crimes were committed during the protracted civil war that tore the West African nation apart.

Having been convicted last month of the war crimes by the tribunal, the prosecutor asked for 80 years sentence but the tribunal, today, sentenced him to 50 years.

Interestingly, Charles Taylor never set for in Sierra Leone during the war.
