Lottery scam: Two arrested over fake marriage

This 'Obodo Oyibo' business is something else.
Adetokunbo Adejayan and Juliet Adebisi, claimed they were married so they could secure a United States visa.

Adejayan who actually won the US Lottery lied that he was married to Juliet so they could leave for the U.S.Unfortunately for them, the arranged marriage was brought to the attention of the Special Fraud Unit  (SFU) by the Assistant Regional Security Officer, United States Consulate General.

The fake marriage was arranged by a Segun who collects millions to arrange the union with someone who genuinely wins an American Visa lottery. In this case, Adebisi paid N1m to Segun in June 2012 to process her visa and another N500,000 for passports, medicals and training.
Speaking on the incident, the Commissioner of Police in charge of SFU, Mr. Tunde Ogunsakin, said,
“It was Segun who booked the appointment for the suspects at the embassy as husband and wife. The fake marriage was arranged last year. Investigation is ongoing and effort is on top gear to arrest Segun and his cohorts.  The arrested suspects will be charged to court soon.”
