Bianca Ojukwu sues Femi Fani Kayode for defamation

Bianca Ojukwu is suing Femi Fani Kayode for defamation by claiming they had an intimate relationship while she was still a spinster. Here is a little summary; 

Following the deportation of some Igbos from Lagos some weeks back, Femi Fani Kayode made some comments which made some people accuse him of being tribalistic. Reacting to these allegations, he claimed he has had intimate relationship with 2 Igbo women, one of which was Bianca (when she was a spinster). Being a Yoruba man, he believed this proved he was not tribalistic else he would not have dated from another tribe.
  In a recent Thisday publication, Bianca Ojukwu's lawyers wrote to Femi Fani Kayode asking him to apologize and also retract the statement he made a few weeks ago about dating her some years back or face a lawsuit.

I was going to be silent on this sad, pathetic but true (in many shades) allegation against Pastor B and his popular and trendy ministry. My silence was borne out of respect for the kingdom of God and things that pertain to God. But all this changed when I heard the horrific tales of people who had been through the mess of this blind man, and the fact that he had no moral motivation to deny or accept the allegation; all he showed on Sunday was a demented swagger and perverse talk.


My sole purpose in writing this piece is to open the eyes of the world and believers to the hypocrisy and nonsense behind the pulpit, and to plea that these wolves and blind men stop deflating the faith of people who Christ died for. I am a Pastor, a full time minister at that, and I shall not sit back while
the name of my God, the ministry, and the works of other shepherds is brought to disrepute by the activities, action and inaction of a few blind men behind the pulpit.

Fergie and Josh Duhamel welcome baby boy

Now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksands of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood. Now is the time to make justice a reality for all of God's children.

Michael Douglas Catherina Zeta-Jones separate

68 years old Michael Douglas and 43 years old Catherine Zeta-Jones have decided to separate temporarily after 13 years of being married to evaluate and work on their marriage.

Sources claim it is Michael who wants to end the union and not Catherine with a friend of Catherine quoted as saying 

'‘Michael has gotten to be a mean old man. He finds fault in her all the time, it is an ugly atmosphere. He is grouchy and hard to live with. They have been arguing for years.’ 

For now, there is no plan of a divorce but if they eventually divorce, Catherine has a pre-nuptial agreement which gives her £960,000 for every year of marriage. She will also be advised to hang on to several of their eight homes.

UNFORTUNATE: Nigeria’s first indigenous car: 16 years after, designer, Izuogu yet to get FG grant

Sixteen years ago, history was made when an engineer, politician and researcher, Dr. Ezekiel Izuogu, invented the first Nigerian car after eight years or research.The invention was celebrated with, at least 20 foreign ambassadors and over 50,000 other dignitaries, including Gen. Oladipo Diya (rtd.), who represented the then Head of State, the late Gen. Sani Abacha, when it was unveiled in Owerri, Imo State.

To compensate him for a commendable effort, the Federal Government promised to motivate him with N235 million after the panel of inquiry gave the car a clean bill of health, certifying it road-worthy. However, 16 years down the line, Izuogu, lamented that he was yet to get a dime from the Federal Government approval, even when the amount was a paltry sum compared to N1.5 billion government gave a foreign car manufacturing company then.

Narrating his frustrating and efforts of his to enlist Nigeria as industrial nation, Izuogu disclosed that he even had to reject a huge offer from a country that promised him $400 million if he could transfer the technology or design to them.

Boy takes flight in tyre compartment of Arik Air plane

Disbelief trails the fact that a young boy successfully boarded a flight on an Arik Air plane through the tyre compartment of an Aril Air air plane  travelling from Benin to Lagos.  When apprehended in Lagos, the young boy was said to have boarded thinking the plane was bound for a trip over seas and not Lagos. 

Arik Air through their spokesman Banji Ola narrated what happened below;

The management of Arik Air has expressed shock over the incident wondering how the teenager beat the Aviation Security personnel at the Benin Airport to get to the runway. 

The pilot of Arik Air flight W3 544, departing Benin Airport for Lagos at 9.00am today 24th August, 2013 reported to the control tower the presence of a strange boy in the bush about 200 – 300 meters at the end of runway 23. The control tower told the Captain that they were sending security men to the place to arrest the boy. As the captain was making his final turn, preparatory for take-off, a cabin crew called his attention to the information by some of the passengers that they saw a boy running towards the airplane.

Prison Break Actor, Wentworth Miller comes out publicly

There has always being rumours that the star was gay but he never publicly admitted it until recently. He was invited to the Russian film festival but had to decline due to the series of anti-gay laws the country passed. 

Russian President Vladimir Putin in July signed a law banning the adoption of Russian-born children by gay couples, a bill that classified 'homosexual propaganda' as pornography and provides for fines and arrest for those making it accessible to minors and a law that bans public gay pride events in Moscow for the next 100 years.

 Thank you for your kind invitation. As someone who has enjoyed visiting Russia in the past and can also claim a degree of Russian ancestry, it would make me happy to say yes. However, as a gay man, I must decline.I am deeply troubled by the current attitude toward and treatment of gay men and women by the Russian government. Actor Lee may have committed suicide due to 'Yoruba' religion

All my life, i have never known there was a religion called Yorùbá but according to this news report by uk.eonline,actor, Lee Thompson Young may have taken his own life after he started practising it. Anyone know  about this African religion that makes people want to kill themselves? Let us know!

 The Rizzoli & Isles star, who was 29 at the time of his death, "didn't drink or party," says a source, adding,  "He was the opposite. Lee loved to travel and was always the first to tell everyone to take a breath and enjoy the beauty of life." He was always "gentle and unassuming," despite his early success, and didn't have the typical "look-at-me" attitude.

That said, those close to Young noticed things "really changed" a few years ago when he began practicing Yorùbá, an Africa-based religion which has a saying, "iku ya j'esin",meaning  "death is preferable to ignominy." Some have questioned whether this means that suicide is an acceptable way to preserve personal or family honor in the face of public shame.

Stolen N20m Wristwatch Sold For N1.2m

 

A hair stylist, Clark Lydia Vivian, 22, and her step-father, Engr. Ayodele, Djamasi, 51, are in police net for allegedly stealing a gold wrist watch worth N20 million and selling it for N1.2 million at Tejuosho market, Yaba, Lagos, southwest Nigeria.
The police at Ilasan Division, Lekki, Eti-Osa, Lagos, arrested them along with the alleged receiver of the stolen wrist watch, Alhaji Ibrahim Abdulahi, 42.
After investigation by Corporal Filatel Matthias and his team, the suspects were arraigned before a Tinubu Magistrate’s Court, Lagos, on a three-count charge of stealing.
The police prosecutor, Sergeant Ighodaro Daniel, told the court that the accused persons were arrested following a complaint by Tope Agbede, a resident of Lekki Phase I, Eti-Osa, that the first accused, Lydia Vivian, stole his gold wrist watch valued at N20 million and escaped.

Oscar Pistorius charged with girlfriend's murder

The blade runner, Oscar Pistorius has been formally charged with murder following the fatal shooting of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp at his home on Valentine's day.

The Prosecutor's submission led to the indictment of Oscar for the murder and the court has set trial to run from March 3-20, 2014.

While the blade-runner insists he shot at who he thought was an intruder, the prosecutor said it was premeditated and he had shot to kill his girlfriend following an argument.

According to the prosecutor's case, witnesses reported hearing a female scream from inside the house followed by some gun shots and then silence.

The case is attracting wide media coverage.

Ms. Steenkamp, a model and reality TV star would have celebrated her 30th birthday today.

Teacher who cannot read exposed

We have always heard about the poor educational standard in Nigeria and this was recently exposed in Edo State. 

A teacher,  Mrs. Augusta Odemwigwe who has taught for 20 years was asked to read her age declaration on national TV and failed woefully. Governor Oshiomole who organised the show to expose teachers who were not competent to teach read a full line from the affidavit and asked the teacher to repeat the sentence and she still could not.

I feel sorry for the kids she taught for the last 20 years!

ASUU STRIKE UPDATE:We can’t meet ASUU’s N92bn demand – FG

The negotiation between the Federal Government and members of the ASUU ended in a deadlock as both parties rescheduled the meeting to Monday next week.

The Governor of Benue State who also doubles as the Chief Mediator on behalf of Federal Government, Dr. Gabriel Suswam, told journalists after a marathon meeting on Tuesday that “tremendous progress” has been made in the negotiations, particularly on the NEEDs Assessment and Earned Allowance issues raised by ASUU.

 

However, the hopes of an early resolution seem to be dampened by the position of the Minister of Finance, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who has been quoted as saying: “At present, ASUU wants the Federal Government to pay N92bn in extra allowances, when the resources are not there, and when we are working to integrate past increases in pensions. We need to make choices in this country as we are getting to the stage where recurrent expenditures take the bulk of our resources and people get paid but can do no work".

UNBELIAVBLE ACT OF WICKEDNESS: Man Buries Brother’s Son Alive

A man and two other accomplices have been arrested and charged to court for burying his 3-year old brother’s son alive for money making ritual.
The incident happened in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, southwest Nigeria.
The man, Amidu Jimoh, 25, was arrested along with the herbalist, John Joseph, 60, who allegedly told him to carry out the dastardly act, along with another suspect, Maliki Aderounmu, 27.
After they were charged before an Ibadan Chief Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, they were remanded in prison custody.
The three accused persons were arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and murder. Specifically they were accused of burying alive a three-year old boy for ritual purpose.

Three-kilometer auditorium: Angry Nigerians blast Adeboye, say N1billion per person donation is criminal

Controversies have continued to trail the recent plans by the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye to erect a new auditorium, stretching three kilometres in length and breadth at the camp ground, along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, which is expected to run into billions of naira.
Adeboye has been at the receiving end of harsh criticisms by angry Nigerians over what they tagged, criminality on the ongoing move to embark on the new project.
It would be recalled that Daddy G.O, as his teeming followers would call him, had at the just concluded 61st annual convention announced the church’s plans to erect a new auditorium stretching three kilometres in length and breadth at the camp ground, along Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The cleric during the programme appealed for donations for the new auditorium, which would accommodate over one million people when completed.
“We need N1 billion from ten people. If you are one of them, please see my personal Secretary after we finish today,” Mr. Adeboye told the congregation.
“We also need N100 million from those who can afford it, if you are in that category. Please see my personal Secretary as well.

The armored SUV is worth about $1.2 million and is built to withstand attacks from landmines and rocket-propelled grenades. Besides this, rumor has it he is going to get the baby two body guards, and two decoys 'fake babies' that will throw off any one looking to hurt North.
